Airports in India need to increase their security

Also, the MHA has pronounced to bring Srinagar and Imphal airports under the Central Industrial Security Force (C.I.S.F) ambit where till now Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are providing security.

The inspection will primarily look into how well the airports are equipped to deal with a situation that took place at the Brussels Airport.

However, the MHA sat on a proposal by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to form a separate ‘Aviation Security Force’ and continue with C.I.S.F.

As per sources, it has been felt that there is an ardent need to increase security arrangements at all the airports in the nation.

Earlier, bombings at the Brussels airport and a metro station on March 22 killed 32 people and injured 340.
