India still is long way back to abolish child marriages

Few areas in India are yet marrying their children before age. According to Census’ calculations, more than 32% girls are indulged in marriage before even turning adults (18 years), whereas ratio in males are lesser to 6%, still child marriages existed in non-negligible percentage.

15% of the girls are married at the age of 16. One in every three women tie knots before turning to 18, legal age for marriage in workforce.

Despite of hundreds of campaigns by government, India is long way back to empower the youth of girls.

Although since decades ago, India gradually showed substantial growth which counts in improvement but the country still has a long way to go.
