Flood situations worsen in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha

The flood situation in Madhya Pradesh’ Vidisha has deteriorated as waters from the Betwa river has entered in some parts of the city.

According to reports, more than 40 villages in the Raisen district are on alert due to swollen Narmada.

The water had been released from overflowing Tawa dam situated in Madhya Pradesh has flooded low lying areas in various areas of Hoshangabad.

The losses are incurred by normal life in Vidisha as Betwa is flowing above the danger mark.

Flood water has also entered in some parts of the city and the essential services like water and power supply have been further affected.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has rescued about 150 people from the Vrindavan garden last evening who were caught in the flood.

Approximately 1,500 people have now been taken to safer places in Vidisha.

Whereas in Raisen, situation has further worsen in areas situated near the Narmada River.

A school holiday has also been announced in Vidisha, Bhopal and Raisen district today as a precautionary measure.
