The IT city is burning since Monday after the Supreme Court modified its earlier decision on Cauvery of releasing 15,000 cusecs of the river water to Tamil Nadu.
Bengaluru witnessed frenzied mobs vandalizing public property and business establishment. In the latest directive of Supreme Court, Tamil Nadu will receive 12,000 cusecs, which means Tamil Nadu will technically receive more water. Notably Karnataka had asked Supreme Court to give it permission to release 10,000 cusecs water.
The Bengaluru Police informed that section 144 has been imposed as a preventive measure. It will remain in force till September 14.
Protests have been erupting in Karnataka ever since the Supreme Court ever since the Supreme Court gave its first directive.
Home Minister, Rajnath Singh has assured that centre will give full support to the city.
