UAE Launches Blue Visa Offering 10-Year Residency to Eco Champions
The UAE has launched the Blue Visa which is a special visa designed for those who have made major contributions to environmental sustainability, as a way to support environmental cause and attract people internationally. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, revealed the initiative as a demonstration of the nation’s vision to be a world leader in green and climate technologies.
Having this visa means environmental champions can live in the UAE for ten years and contribute to positive changes in environmental policy. It extends the success of the UAE’s Golden Visa and Green Visa, since both allow foreign investors, founders and professionals to live in the UAE long-term, though this requires greater attention to the environment.
Who is eligible for this program?
People joining the Blue Visa are chosen from environmental leaders across the UAE and internationally. Most eligibility standards involve:
- Environmental Researchers and Scientists: Individuals who have accomplished much around the world in the field of environmental study.
- People who have worked toward sustainability and have made a real difference in climate change by speaking out or doing other important work.
- International Environmental Organizations and NGOs: People who drive environmental conservation and make progress towards sustainable development at a global level.
