Similar Stories of Evading Death are Told by One Seat Two Survivors and Two Plane Crashes in the 11A Mystery
Two Survivors, One Seat: The Unbelievable Link Between Ruangsak and Viswashkumar in 11A

From Thailand to India: How Two Survivors in Seat 11A Defied Death in Separate Plane Crashes
Two Survivors : In a bizarre turn of events the sole survivor of two plane crashes that happened decades apart has a startlingly similar detail: they were both in seat 11A. Many are shocked by this striking correlation between tragedies and wonder if this pattern is more than just a coincidence.
Recently 47-year-old Thai singer Ruangsak Loychusak shared his survival story of a 1998 plane crash in which he was also seated in 11A. After the tragic crash of Air India Express Flight AI 171 in which the only survivor was also given that same seat number his story came to light again.
A Second Chance and Death in the Thai Airways Crash
In Surat Thani Thailand on December 11 1998 Thai Airways Flight TG261 crashed while attempting to land. After taking off from Bangkok the plane ran into bad weather on the way to its destination. The plane stalled while attempting to land and fell into a swampy field.
Fourteen crew members and 132 passengers were on board. Forty-five people were injured and 101 people died in the crash. Ruangsak Loychusak survived one of the few people.
During a recent interview he said The only person who survived the Indian plane crash was seated in the same seat number as me – 11A. It caused me to think carefully about what I went through and how fleeting life is.
Living After the Crash: Ten Years of Trauma
Only the beginning of Ruangsaks arduous journey was survival. His career and life were permanently impacted by the psychological wounds. I struggled to fly for ten years after the crash he revealed. I would struggle to breathe even if the air circulation was normal.
He established certain rituals to help him cope. On flights I never spoke to anyone. I never allowed anyone to close the window and I was always staring out. I felt like I had some control because of it.
He became more anxious due to weather triggers as well. He remarked If I saw rainstorms or dark clouds outside I would feel like I was in hell. I couldn’t stop thinking about that picture.
Another Life was Saved in 11A During the Air India Express Tragedy
After Air India Express Flight AI 171 crashed tragically the haunting connection to seat 11A reappeared. The only survivor of the 242 passengers was Viswashkumar, a British national of Indian heritage. 11A is his seat number once more.
His brother Ajaykumar who was seated in 11J was also traveling with Viswashkumar. Sadly Ajaykumar did not make it out alive. The two had moved to the UK more than 15 years ago having previously lived in the coastal Indian state of Diu. They oversaw a clothes company in London in addition to operating a fishing operation in Diu.
In the Air India Express flight fifteen people from the villages of Vanakbara and Bucharwada were on board. The community was devastated by the crash but one man’s incredible survival inspired both wonder and sadness.

Does Fate or Fluke Mean Anything?
Seat 11 As recurrence as the location of the only survivor in two catastrophic accidents raises philosophical and even spiritual questions. Is this the result of chance or is there something much more mysterious at play here?
Although aviation experts will probably call it a coincidence, Loychusak and Viswashkumar have both been given the unlikely gift of a second life which is something that is uncommon.
Ruangsak acknowledged It makes you think there’s something bigger at play. It alters you forever to survive when so many people around you did not.
