Drone Warfare Escalates: Pakistan Accuses India of Strikes After Operation Sindoor
The Pakistani military said India carried out a number of drone strikes in Lahore, Karachi and other places a day after destroying nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan’s civil aviation authority said Islamabad and Lahore were temporarily closed for operational reasons while Karachi airport was closed until 6 p. m. Pakistan tried to attack military targets in a number of Indian cities on May 7 including Awantipora Srinagar Jammu Pathankot Amritsar Chandigarh and more according to a statement from India’s Ministry of Defence.
Additionally they claimed that debris from these attacks – which India’s air defense systems neutralized – was being recovered in order to provide evidence of Pakistan’s involvement.
The Indian military responded to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam by launching precision strikes on terrorist infrastructures at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir that same day. The operation which was code-named Operation Sindoor took place between 1:04 and 1:30 in the morning.
The Pakistan Army used heavy artillery and mortar shelling on forward villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K shortly after the missile attacks, killing a soldier and at least 12 civilians.
Pakistan is entitled to provide a befitting reply to this act of war imposed by India according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Pakistani military knows very well how to deal with the enemy he continued. But Khawaja Asif Pakistani defense minister stated that if the situation de-escalates Islamabad is prepared to wrap up tensions with New Delhi.
