Meet Anudeep Durishetty, the man who has turned his dream into a reality

Anudeep Durishetty has set an example 


A lot of people every year try their luck hard for All India Civil Examination. But only a few of them get an opportunity to turn their dream into reality. This time 28-year-old Anudeep  Durishetty tops the UPSC examination.  It was a fifth and the final attempt for Anudeep Durishetty when he took the All India Civil Services Examinations 2017 held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Before cracking the most precious exam he was already working as An Indian Revenue Service Officer. He was quoted saying,”It is thrilling and exciting. The fact that I am the topper is yet to sink in.”

The son of D Manohar, an assistant divisional engineer with Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd, and D Jyothy, a homemaker, Anudeep hails from Metpalli town in Jagitial district.A brilliant student right through his schooling days at Metpalli’s Sri Suryodaya High School, Anudeep bagged a seat in B Tech (Electronics & Instrumentation) at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani in Rajasthan. He graduated in 2011. Anudeep qualified the examination with anthropology as his subject. “The subject had been close to my heart right because it deals with the evolution of mankind and the society,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anu Kumari of Sonipat secured the second rank and is the topper among the female candidates. She graduated with B.Sc (Hons) in Physics from Delhi University and has done MBA (Finance and Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur. The top 25 candidates comprised 17 men and eight women.

Saumya Sharma, who appeared in the UPSC exams under the physically disabled category. secured an overall ninth rank. The UPSC exam was held in June 2017 to recruit aspirants for as many as 980 posts in Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, Central Services (Group A and Group B) and various other government departments.
