1. Is Rishi Sunak a party animal?

Fake news: Rishi Sunak became the PM of Britain after the dramatic exit of Liz Truss and Boris Johnson from Britain’s prime ministerial position. After his appointment, many pictures and videos of Rishi Sunak are being circulated on social media with misleading claims. In a viral video, a man can be seen partying on the beach. While sharing this video, people claimed that the man is Rishi Sunak.

Foolproof: The viral claim is false. A report in Daily Mail dated 24 January 2022 in which similar footage can be seen. According to it, Wayne Lineker, owner of the Ibiza club, posted a video of a man dancing who looks similar to Britain’s PM Rishi Sunak. Ibiza is a Spanish island off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula in the Mediterranean Sea.

2. Is Lalu Yadav faking his illness?  

Kisne feka: A collage of Lalu Yadav is going viral on social media where he can be seen sitting in a wheelchair. Also, in another, Lalu Yadav is wearing a T-shirt and trousers and can be seen standing at a beach with his daughter. While mocking the RJD president, people on social media claimed that he faked his illness to not be in jail.

Truth dose: The viral claim is misleading. According to the report of TOI, the Ranchi Jail administration granted 3-day parole to Lalu Yadav to attend his eldest son Tej Pratap’s marriage after imposing several conditions for his release. Tej Pratap married Aishwarya, the daughter of the former RJD minister, on May 12, 2018.

For another image, according to the report, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav went to Singapore for his kidney-related treatment. He reached Singapore on October 12, 2022, where his daughter Rohini Acharya lives. The viral image is from the same trip.

3. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal demanding stringent actions against Bilkis Bano’s accusers!  

Fake news: A video showing Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal talking about the justice system and taking action against criminals is going viral across social media. In the video, Kejriwal is allegedly referring to punishments for recently released convicts in the Bilkis Bano case.

Foolproof: The viral claim is false. The viral video is a video of Arvind Kejriwal dating back to February 2020. AAP leader Kejriwal made the video in response to allegations that Tahir Hussain, an AAP leader, was involved in the citizenship amendment protests and the killing of Intelligence Bureau employee Ankit Sharma.

The Delhi CM stated that action would be taken against those who incited or participated in the CAA riots, regardless of their political affiliation.

4. Visuals from Congress-led ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’!

Kisne feka: A video of a large crowd is viral across social media with the claim that it shows visuals from the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi.

Truth dose: The viral claim is false. Every year, Pydithalli Ammavaru Sirimanotsavam is held in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram in October. The video is from the same events.
