On his 35th death anniversary, tribute was given to this pioneer of music industry in the presence of many Bollywood stars. Present at the event was music director is mail Darbar, actor Rajeev Khandelwal, Anandji of Kalyanji Anandji and many more. Ismail captured the moment by singing ‘Lut Gaye’ from ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.

The dynamic singer who gave us hits like ‘Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe’, ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhorh Kar’, ‘ Aaj Mausam Bada Beiman Hai’, ‘Taarif Karun Kya Uski’ continues to be one of the most cherished Indian singers and one who is emulated by generation after generation. Known for his sheer talent and depth in voice, that suited each occasion and every mood, he received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 1967, he was honored with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India.
