You might not be aware that your body cells are constantly shedding off from the superficial layers of skin-the epidermis. It is a natural process to rejuvenate and replenish the skin and get rid of the old degenerating cells.

 

Dandruff is not only unhygienic but also renders your hair strands weak and dull.

 

Countless hair products are commercially available claiming to wipe off dandruff in a single wash but what about the deleterious effect these harsh chemical does to your hair?

 

Home Remedies for Eliminating Dandruff

 

Peep in your kitchen cabinet and you will find some ‘sure shot’ and wonderful recipes to say goodbye to the ‘white menace’ or ‘snowfall’.

 

Lemon Juice and Garlic:

Extract juice form a big lemon and add 5-6 pods of crushed garlic and apply the mixture with the aid of a cotton ball on your scalp by parting the hair in small sections. Wash off with water after 20-30 minutes.

 

Soap Nut or Reetha:

Add water to the powdered soap nut or reetha. You can obtain powdered reetha by grinding it in a mixer. Apply this even paste on the hair roots and scalp and leave it for two hours. Now wash with water.

 

Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil has amazing anti-dandruff properties. Apply the oil directly on the roots of the hair and scalp and leave it overnight. Next morning use a mild herbal shampoo and wash off.

Curd and Besan (Gram Flour):

Mix chick pea flour or besan and some sour curd in a fine paste. Apply the paste like a hair mask all over your head, especially cover the roots.

Add some drops of lemon to avoid curd oiliness in your hair.

 

Methi or Fenugreek:

Grind methi dana or fenugreek in a fine paste after soaking it overnight. Mixteh methi paste with olive oil and evenly apply the paste on the scalp. Leave it for 2-3 hours ad then wash off with water.

 

Apple Cidar Vineger:

Being acidic in nature vinegar is effective in destroying the fungus and bacteria budding on the scalp. Mix one part of apple cidar vinegar and three parts of water. Apply this mixture with a cotton ball and wash off in 5-8 minutes.

 

 

The All Purpose Hair Conditioner:

Mix one egg, half a cup of curd, one tablespoon of vinegar, one tablespoon of henna powder, one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of neem oil. Mix all the ingredients evenly and apply over your hair, scalp and roots. Leave it for an hour and wash off for beautiful, strong, thick and dandruff-free hair.
