Euro 2016 soccer possibly a terror target: U.S.

On Tuesday, the United States warned its citizens that this year’s Euro 2016 soccer tournament and events across France and Europe will be a possible target for terrorists.

The Championship starts in Paris on June 10, drawing the best teams across the world.

According to the U.S. the threat concerns the French stadiums hosting matches, and areas across the continent which will witness a huge number of crowd like unaffiliated venues which will broadcast the tournament, Euro Cup stadiums, and fan zones.

The warning was held earlier than a planned update to its warning to US travelers to beware of the extremist attack.

The French government has ruled out the canceling of the international tournament, which is expected to draw millions of fans to the country.
