The saga of Twilight has been more than a decade old since The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was released in cinema. The famous vampire franchise has created ripples once again. Early in 2025, a fan-made trailer dubbed The Twilight Saga 6: The New Chapter appeared on YouTube. Millions stormed to watch it. Though unofficial, the much-hyped AI-generated concept trailer from KH Studio reignited interest in the saga and ushered in another wave of speculation about the future of Stephenie Meyer’s iconic vampire world.
The trailer heavily revolves around Renesmee, the half-human, half-vampire daughter of Edward and Bella, as the central figure in a new chapter in which she copes with her identity and family legacy. While it’s obviously a fan creation, breathtaking visuals and a rich emotional tone duped some fans into believing that it was actually a sequel. The trailer has so far surpassed three million views, demonstrating that affection for the Twilight universe is alive and well and clamoring for more.
Meanwhile, even if Twilight Saga 6 has remained off the table for filming at the moment, one can expect fans to hear news soon. One such major development in the news is Stephenie Meyer turning Midnight Sun into an animated series for Netflix. Announced by Tudum in September 2024, the programming introduces fresh material; it recounts the account of the first Twilight book- only, from Edward Cullen’s view.
This marks the first new screen adaptation of Meyer’s work since the original films concluded in 2012. While Netflix has not yet announced the cast, episode count, or release date, the fact that Stephenie Meyer is attached as executive producer holds promise for an authentic and faithful approach to the material. Midnight Sun—the novel introduced in 2020—provided fans with a much darker, more brooding look into Edward’s psyche and his tortured self as he falls in love with the human Bella Swan.
