Pakistani Actress Humaira Asghar Found Dead in Karachi Apartment: Police Recover Decomposed Body After Weeks of Silence

In a shocking and deeply tragic incident, Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar was found dead in her apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VI. The decomposed body of the 32-year-old artist was discovered by the police on Tuesday, July 8, following a court-directed eviction inspection.

According to authorities, Humaira Asghar is believed to have passed away nearly two weeks before her remains were found. The disturbing discovery unfolded after her landlord, distressed by her prolonged silence and non-payment of rent, sought legal action for eviction. Following court orders, the Gizri police were dispatched to the apartment located in the Ittehad Commercial area of DHA. When they received no response at the door and were alerted by a strong foul smell, officers broke into the flat at approximately 3:15 pm.

Police officials confirmed that the apartment was locked from the inside, including the balcony door, which suggests no immediate signs of forced entry or external foul play. South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza stated that although the circumstances appear suspicious, initial assessments found no conclusive evidence of criminal involvement. However, further clarity is expected following forensic analysis and the official postmortem report.

Forensic experts from the Crime Scene Unit thoroughly examined the scene and collected physical evidence. Humaira Asghar’s remains were subsequently transported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy and other legal formalities. Dr. Summaiya Syed, a police surgeon at JPMC, verified the advanced state of decomposition, making it difficult to determine the exact cause of death. “The cause of death remains reserved,” she said, adding that results from the postmortem would provide definitive answers in due course.
