The city of Mumbai sparkled with entrepreneurial energy as the 38th edition of the IMC Ladies Wing’s Women Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2025 unfolded, marking a grand celebration of creativity, commerce, and women-led innovation. This much-anticipated annual showcase, organized by the Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, once again proved why it is regarded as India’s premier platform for discovering exceptional women-led brands.

In perfect sync with the festive season, this vibrant exhibition gathered 286 remarkable women entrepreneurs from 31 cities, many stepping into the retail space for the very first time. The array of offerings was as diverse as it was inspiring — from gourmet foods and high-fashion ensembles to artisanal crafts, lifestyle designs, and sustainable innovations. What made the event truly special was its commitment to India’s heritage, featuring master artisans and traditional weavers from remote regions, alongside NGOs from Siliguri, Ganeshpuri (Palghar), Sujangarh, and Shekhawati. Each showcased handmade products that proudly preserved age-old techniques and cultural artistry.

The inaugural ceremony, held on August 10, was a star-studded affair graced by Bollywood actor Manushi Chhillar, whose presence brought additional glamour and inspiration. Joining her were Rajyalakshmi Rao, President of IMC Ladies’ Wing; Kalpana Shah, Chairperson of the Exhibition Committee; Juveca Panda Chheda, Co-Chairperson; and special guests Zarine Khan and Madhoo Shah, along with members of the Exhibition Committee.

In her address, Manushi Chhillar captured the spirit of the occasion, saying, “This is not just an exhibition — it’s a celebration of women who dare to dream and work relentlessly to make those dreams come true. What I love most about women entrepreneurs is that they build with empathy, purpose, and heart, setting an example for young girls like me to believe in the possibilities of their dreams.”

Rajyalakshmi Rao spoke with pride about her presidential theme for the year, “Evolve to Excel,” describing it as a call for women to embrace change, overcome challenges, and move forward with courage. Kalpana Shah unveiled the event’s theme — a tribute to the legendary artist Raja Ravi Varma, whose portraits of women exude both grace and empowerment. The ceremony commenced with the national anthem and traditional lamp lighting, followed by a heartfelt letter from Kokilaben Ambani, read aloud by Juveca Panda Chheda, extending warm wishes to all participants.

Highlighting the exhibition’s green initiatives, Chheda shared how sustainability was deeply integrated into the event this year. The décor embraced plastic-free, eco-friendly materials; the entire event was powered by green energy; all wet waste was composted; and plastic bottles used on-site were collected for recycling. These efforts reflected a conscious move towards reducing the event’s carbon footprint while promoting mindful consumption.

Adding to the day’s excitement, several renowned personalities including Rashmi Thackeray, Sunita Kapoor, Poonam Sinha, and Poonam Dhillon visited the exhibition, further enhancing its appeal and prestige. Their presence underscored the event’s status as not just a commercial showcase but also a cultural and social highlight on Mumbai’s calendar.

As the day drew to a close, it was clear that the Women Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2025 had once again delivered more than just an impressive marketplace. It stood as a symbol of empowerment, innovation, and solidarity among women striving to make their mark in the business world. With applications for the next edition already streaming in, the event continues to grow not just as an annual gathering but as a movement — driving forward the visibility, success, and influence of women-led enterprises across India.

From first-time entrepreneurs to seasoned creators, from sustainability advocates to cultural torchbearers, this year’s exhibition reflected a shared vision — one where women build the future with heart, innovation, and purpose. And as Manushi Chhillar’s words reminded everyone, the journey of a woman entrepreneur is not just about commerce; it’s about creating a legacy of inspiration for generations to come.
