Lainey Wilson Dominates 2025 ACMs: Sweeps Top Honors, All Winners Listed
The 60th annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards in Frisco, Texas on Thursday, May 8, 2025, just like the year before, was all Lainey Wilson’s. Carrying on the reign that she had over the country music, Wilson left with the most popular awards of the season consolidating her place as a dominant figure in the genre. Her amazing talent and the broad audience of her music were uncontested, as she received multiple awards including the most desirable Entertainer of the Year the second time in a row.
Wilson’s dominance didn’t stop there. She also won the Female Artist of the Year award and that too for the second consecutive year in this category. The critically applauded album “Whirlwind” made her receive the Album of the year award as many other pieces of art she had produced. Also, Wilson won the Artist-Songwriter of the Year award for her outstanding contribution in composing her own amazing stories on song.
Although Lainey Wilson was the starring act of the night, the 2025 ACM Awards honoured a variety of talent in the country music field. Chris Stapleton won the Male Artist of the Year award for the strength in his voice and the reoccurring things coming in the genre. The duo Brooks & Dunn received the award for Duo of the Year, presenting them with validation of their legacy and longevity in the country music universe. Old Dominion won the Group of the Year award especially for the nice harmonies and interesting live shows.
The New Artists categories threw the limelight on the new talents. Ella Langley was crowned New Female Artist of the Year, and Zach Top as New Male Artist of the Year. The Red Clay Strays were reportedly awarded New Duo / Group of the Year which speaks volumes about a promising future of these stars on the rise.
Among the song categories, Cody Johnson’s “Dirt Cheap”, which was written by Josh Phillips, won Song of the Year. It is a reflection of the fantastic songwriting and was easily the sentimental favorite. Ella Langley and Riley Green’s “You Look Like You Love Me” won Single of the Year and Music Event of the Year, which indicated its popularity as a single and a collaboration. Visually, Lainey Wilson’s “4x4xU” won Visual Media of the Year, as it had a great creative vision. In addition, Jessie Jo Dillon was named Songwriter of the Year, another way of honoring her as a writer and songwriter.
The ACM Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award was simply and elegantly presented to Alan Jackson, which was a tribute not only to his lifetime achievements but also to the emotional beginning step in country music history.

The 2025 ACM Awards featured the current stars of country music, but it also embraced the past during its opening with a rare medley of songs performed by in order of age (approximately lol) Reba McEntire, Clint Black, Wynonna Judd, LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town, and Dan + Shay. All together, they paid homage to decades of great country songs and artists. This opened up the entertainment for the evening, showing that while it is still country music today, the roots truly live on. Showcasing previous generations’ talent will always connect new generations with songs we know and love. The music was meant to spark nostalgia for any country music lover and this crowd was eating it up!
