From IAS aspirant to TV Star
Rubina Dilaik turned a year older on 26 August. She was born and brought up in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. She earned the title of Miss Shimla in 2006. Later, she got selected for a TV serial audition and her acting career took off. Being an actor was never Rubina’s first dream. She was always good at academics, therefore; her father wants to make her an Engineer. But she failed to qualify in physics papers. Later, Dilaik prepared for Civil Services.
Meanwhile, she got a big break in Zee TV’s serial Choti Bahu as a main lead in the year 2008. People loved her on-screen chemistry with Avinash Sachdev. There were rumours that the reel life couple was dating as well. But after dating for a couple of years they parted ways.
Rubina has worked in many hit soaps like Saas Bina Sasural, Banu Main Teri Dulhann, Punar Vivah, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Jeannie Aur Juju. But one of her shows Shakti, Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki made her a popular household name. In shakti, she played the role of a transwoman character and highlighted their struggle for identity in society.
