Fardeen Khan Opens Up on His 25 Kilo Weight Loss and How Quitting Alcohol Transformed His Body and Mind
Fardeen Khan is again the talk of the town—not just for his brilliant acting in Heeramandi and Housefull 5 but also for his personal transformation, one that has inspired and stunned his fans. In a recent tête-à-tête, Khan spoke about his weight loss journey, where he admitted to having lost 25 kilos of weight and having gotten back energy and mental clarity through one major life-changing decision: giving up on alcohol.
The once lean Bollywood actor returned with a new physique and stronger mentality only to be at times trolled for a drastically altered appearance during the postponement of his career. He said at one time his heaviest weight was around 102-103 kg, not muscle but excess fat. He is now proud to be at a healthy weight of between 78-79 kg. This transformation was more than looking good on camera but an arduous personal mission to regain health and identity.

Fardeen Khan expressed that there came a time when he just felt like he was not himself. Despite public scrutiny and horrible trolling on social networks, what bothered him the most, he felt, was the disconnection from his own inside. “I just had no sense of identity,” he said, realizing that not being well physically was affecting him emotionally and mentally. This became the trigger for him to embark on drastic and highly necessary steps toward self-care and personal development.
Quitting alcohol entirely becomes one of the most significant crossroads Fardeen faced. During the lockdown of COVID-19 that started in early 2020, he had made the radical decision to sober up overnight. That’s when I kicked the habit full on. I stopped in one go,” he relayed in the interview. It wasn’t easy, yet the positives surfaced rapidly.
Fardeen says that alcohol had created a mental haze and fatigue that made him feel like he was aging much faster than he should have. “I was feeling bloody 60 years old,” he admitted. Everything flipped once alcohol was taken out. He felt renewed, alert, and aware. “Now, when you wake up, I feel clean, sober… I quit overnight, but coming to terms with your new life was a tough journey,” he noted.
