Akshay Kumar is the ‘highest taxpayer’ from the entertainment industry. He has managed to retain the title for five years now. Hence Kumar is awarded ‘Samma Patra’ from the Income Tax department. As soon as this was announced, people started calling him Canada Kumar. While some supported him saying he is contributing so much to India, others trolled him.

For the unversed, Akshay Kumar has a Canadian passport.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay is all set to appear in Raksha Bandhan’. It will be released on August 11. Akshay is also a part of ‘Selfiee’, which will be out on 24 February 2023.

Apart from him, Superstar Rajnikanth is also among the highest taxpayers.

Bollywood updates: Why are people trending Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha?

‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ was trending a few days ago on Twitter. People were demanding a ban on the Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer film. The movie is an Indian remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump.

Also, netizens have dug out the actor’s previous controversial statement. This is not the 1st time that the hashtag is trending on social media. Earlier also, when the movie’s trailer was released, people wanted to boycott the film.

Aamir Khan’s statement from 2015 in which he said that “India is growing intolerant” is apparently being reshared on social media. Therefore, people are calling Aamir Khan “anti-Hindu” and “anti-national”.

Bollywood updates: Veteran TV actor Mithilesh Chaturvedi died due to a cardiac arrest

Veteran TV actor Mithilesh Chaturvedi, who has done TV shows like Neeli Chatri Wale, and Kayamat to name a few, passed away due to a heart ailment in his hometown Lucknow on August 3.

The actor, who had been shifted to Lucknow for better recovery, died of a heart attack.

He has acted in several films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Koi Mil Gaya, My Friend Pinto, Phata Poster Nikla Hero, and Ready amongst others. Additionally, he appeared in numerous commercials and had significant roles in online series like Scam and TV dramas like Patiala Babes, where he played Ram Jethmalani. His last film was Gulabo Sitabo with Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana.

Mithilesh’s son-in-law Ashish Chaturvedi announced the news on social media.

Bollywood updates: Alia Bhatt Trolled as ‘Amber Heard of India’

While Alia Bhatt is busy promoting her new film ‘Darlings’, “Boycott Alia Bhatt” started trending on Twitter. Netizens felt that the film is promoting domestic violence against men through the film.

‘Darlings’ features Alia Bhatt in the lead role of Badrunissa, a domestic violence victim, who sets out to take revenge on her husband Hamza (Vijay Varma) for torturing her. While the film deals with a sensitive issue, the trailer showed Alia’s character kidnapping and beating her husband in the same house and filing a fake missing complaint with the police as part of revenge.

In the trailer of ‘Darling’, Alia can be seen tying up Vijay’s hands, beating him up with a pan, and thrusting his face into the water to teach him a lesson. In a particular scene, she says “I do not want to kill him but will treat him the exact same way he treated me.”

Not only this, trolled called Alia- Amber Heard of India.
