According to the latest result data, 6,07,151 candidates appeared for the examination covering 84 subjects, while 1,47,579 candidates qualified across the three eligibility categories. This represents approximately 24.31% of the candidates who appeared for the examination.

UGC NET June 2026 Result: Key Highlights

The UGC NET June 2026 examination was conducted by NTA in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination process covered 87 subjects; however, the current results have been released for 84 subjects. The examinations for English, Commerce and Sociology will be conducted again in September.

For the 84 subjects included in the current result declaration, 7,73,806 candidates registered, of whom 6,07,151 appeared for the examination. The qualifying candidates have been placed into different eligibility categories based on their performance.

Over 1.47 Lakh Candidates Qualify

A total of 1,47,579 candidates have qualified in the UGC NET June 2026 results announced so far. The category-wise qualification figures are:

  • 4,241 candidates qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor.
  • 45,904 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor and admission to PhD.
  • 97,434 candidates qualified for PhD admission only.

Together, these categories account for 1,47,579 qualified candidates, or around 24.31% of those who appeared for the 84-subject examination.

English, Commerce And Sociology Candidates Must Wait

Candidates who appeared for English, Commerce and Sociology should note that their results are not included in the current declaration. NTA has decided to conduct fresh examinations for these three subjects following issues identified with the question papers.

The re-examinations are scheduled for September 9 and 10, 2026. English is scheduled for September 9 in Shift 1, Commerce for September 9 in Shift 2, and Sociology for September 10 in Shift 1.

Candidates belonging to these three subjects may see an “Invalid Application Number/Password” message if they try to access the scorecard before the re-examination. NTA has clarified that their scorecards and results will be made available after the fresh examination process is completed.

UGC NET June 2026 Cut-Off And Final Answer Key

Along with the UGC NET June 2026 results, NTA has also released the subject-wise and category-wise cut-off information for the 84 subjects. The final answer keys have also been published after the provisional answer-key challenge process.

NTA released the question papers, provisional answer keys and recorded responses for the 84 subjects on August 16 and allowed candidates to submit challenges until August 18. The challenges were reviewed by subject experts before the final answer keys were prepared and the results were processed.

What Candidates Should Do After UGC NET Result 2026

Candidates who have qualified should download and preserve their scorecards and check the eligibility category mentioned on the result. Qualification in UGC NET can determine eligibility for JRF, Assistant Professor appointments and/or PhD admission depending on the category secured.

Candidates should also keep their required certificates and academic documents ready because eligibility and supporting documents may be verified by the concerned authorities according to the applicable UGC-NET rules.
