Girl Gang-Rape Horror: Courageous Intervention Halts Assault; One Arrest Amid Harrowing Incident
On the fateful nights of December 9 and 10, a 19-year-old girl underwent a harrowing experience as she became the victim of a brutal girl gang rape by two bus drivers on the Kanpur-Jaipur route. On her way to her uncle’s home, the young girl boarded a bus where the lack of available seats forced her to occupy the cabin. Little did she know that this decision would lead to a traumatic turn of events.

Opportune Moment Exploited in Horrifying Assault
At around 7:30 pm, during the journey, the drivers seized a moment when the cabin was vacated by other passengers, subjecting the girl to a horrifying assault. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Phoolchand Meena shed light on the incident, stating, “When other passengers in the cabin left, the drivers raped her, taking turns.”
The shocking incident unfolded when passengers outside the cabin grew suspicious and decided to intervene. Opening the door, they discovered the distressed state of the girl and wasted no time in confronting the perpetrators. In a desperate attempt to escape justice, one driver managed to flee, leaving the other, identified as Mohammed Arif, to face the consequences. The bus was swiftly driven to a nearby petrol pump at a makeshift halt.

Passengers’ Brave Intervention:
“When the passengers sitting outside grew suspicious, they opened the cabin door. Seeing the state of the girl, the passengers beat up the drivers. One of the drivers managed to escape. They caught hold of the other one. They drove the bus to a petrol pump,” explained the ACP.
The traumatised victim was promptly taken to the police station, where her uncle courageously filed a complaint report, initiating the legal pursuit of justice. Currently, the police are actively engaged in the search for the second driver, Lalit, who remains at large.
