Farooq Abdullah Slams Congress Over ‘Gayab’ Jibe, Stands Firmly Behind PM Modi After Pahalgam Attack
Abdullah, unsurprisingly, took on the provocateurs and hard-hitting denials from the Congress party. For example, Abdullah dismissed the Congress’ provocative claim that Modi had gone missing with strong timing in response to the ongoing political rattle which followed the most recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Congress posted a now-deleted image with a caption that read: “jimmedari ke samay-Gayab,” mocking the Prime Minister. The demeaning image displayed the Prime Minister’s attire with no visible body. It sparked widespread controversy.
Along with following a different line of his ally, Farooq Abdullah have defended, in fact, are defending that, during such a time of crisis, the Prime Minister should’ve arrived in person. “Where is he missing? I know he is in Delhi,” Abdullah asserted, adding that his party has extended complete support to the Centre for any retaliatory or strategic action that may follow the Pahalgam attack.
It is against this backdrop where external politics are rife-there is a sharpening of rhetoric from Congress as political calls are increasing for strong retaliatory action against Pakistan, which is described as responsible for yet another act of cross-border terrorism. The furious reply of BJP to the post by Congress saw the opposition accused of trying to draw up a picture that looks more like a threat of extremists, thus weakening the nation at this point when unity is most needed.
He said that he has not made any doubt with regard to the role of government about what it does. Stressed the Prime Minister should not after having received total support be questioned. “We have given our full support to the Prime Minister. After that, we should not be questioned. The Prime Minister should do whatever work he finds necessary,” the former Jammu &Amp; Kashmir chief minister said.
Abdullah however seized the moment to , without mincing words, bashing the surface of Pakistan’s veiled nuclear threats, while reminding Islamabad that India too is a nuke power and has always exercised restraint unless provoked: “We too have nuclear power-said specks even before them. India has not attached anyone first. But if they apply it, we have it too,” he warned while making it very clear that such a scenario must never arise.
He further cited Pakistan’s historical role in multi-terrorism attacks against India, including that of Mumbai, Pathankot, Uri, and Kargil, totally showing that denial has often been their immediate response until action was taken weighty by India. “There was the Mumbai attack, and it was proven they did it. The Pathankot attack, they did it, the Uri attack, they did it. They attacked in Kargil, and I was the chief minister at that time. They denied involvement until we acted, and then they sought US help,” he recalled.
