Faridabad Horror: Woman Gang-Raped in Moving Van for Over Two Hours, Thrown on Road With Severe Injuries

A horrific crime has shaken Faridabad, where a 28-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped inside a moving van for more than two hours before being thrown onto the road with serious injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday and has once again raised urgent questions about women’s safety during late-night travel.

What Happened

According to police officials, the incident took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The married woman was waiting for a vehicle to return home when a van stopped near her. Two young men inside the vehicle reportedly offered to drop her home, luring her into the van under the pretense of helping her.

Instead of taking her home, the vehicle moved towards Gurgaon Road, where the accused allegedly assaulted her continuously for around two-and-a-half hours. Despite the victim’s repeated protests and pleas, the men allegedly threatened her and continued the assault as the van kept moving.

Thrown From the Moving Van

Around 3 am, the accused allegedly threw the woman out of the moving van near Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar in Faridabad. She suffered severe facial injuries and was bleeding heavily after being dumped on the road.

Local residents alerted authorities, and the victim’s family also rushed to the spot after being informed. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Doctors later confirmed that the woman sustained serious facial wounds and required 10 to 12 stitches. While her condition has now stabilized, she remains in a state of deep psychological shock.

Victim Alerted Family During the Ordeal

In a crucial detail, the victim reportedly managed to call her sister multiple times while she was inside the van. When the sister returned the call, she realized something was wrong and alerted other family members.

The victim’s sister stated in her complaint that the woman had called her earlier in the evening, around 8:30 pm, informing her about an argument with their mother and saying she was going to a friend’s house. She had assured her family that she would return home within three hours.

When the woman failed to return and distress calls were received later in the night, the family immediately began searching for her.

Background of the Victim

Police sources said the woman is married and has three children. She currently lives separately from her husband due to a domestic dispute. Authorities have emphasized that her personal circumstances have no bearing on the crime and that the case is being investigated strictly as a serious criminal offense.

Due to her physical and emotional condition, the woman’s formal statement has not yet been recorded.

Accused Arrested, Van Recovered

Faridabad police acted swiftly and arrested both accused within hours of the incident. The van used in the crime has also been recovered and sent for forensic examination.

Officials confirmed that multiple teams were formed to track the suspects using CCTV footage and technical surveillance. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including gang rape and attempt to murder.

Police have assured that the investigation will be conducted thoroughly and that strict legal action will follow.

Public Outrage and Safety Concerns

The incident has sparked widespread outrage in Faridabad and beyond. Citizens and women’s rights groups have expressed anger over recurring crimes against women, particularly during late-night travel.

The case has once again highlighted concerns over inadequate public transport safety, lack of monitoring of private vehicles, and the vulnerability of women in urban spaces after dark.

Authorities Respond

Senior police officials stated that additional patrols have been deployed in sensitive areas and that efforts are being made to strengthen night-time surveillance. They have also urged citizens to avoid unverified private transport and to report suspicious activity immediately.

The coming days will be crucial as police record the victim’s statement and prepare the case for trial.
