The selection process, which began with 5,585 applications, has now reached its decisive stage. The three-member search committee submitted its final three-name panel to the Trust on September 1.
The CEO will play a key role in managing the day-to-day functioning of the Ram Mandir, coordinating with government agencies, handling pilgrim facilities, overseeing administration and strengthening operational systems in Ayodhya.

The creation of the CEO post is being seen as an important step towards professionalising the administration of the Ram Mandir. The Trust received thousands of applications before narrowing the field through multiple rounds of scrutiny, online interactions and personal interviews.
The final process included face-to-face interviews in Ayodhya. Candidates were assessed on management skills, leadership, strategic planning, professional experience, technology expertise and their ability to handle large-scale events and crowds.
The Trust is now expected to select one candidate from the final panel. Reports say the meeting scheduled for Wednesday could formally decide who becomes the temple institution’s first full-time CEO.
Rajesh Pandey: The Former Encounter Specialist
Former Uttar Pradesh IPS officer Rajesh Pandey is among the most prominent names associated with the Ram Mandir CEO race. During his policing career, Pandey gained a reputation as an “encounter specialist” and handled important assignments in Uttar Pradesh.
His career included senior policing responsibilities and association with the state’s Special Task Force and anti-terror operations. He was also involved in major investigations and security operations. After retiring from the Uttar Pradesh Police in 2021, he subsequently worked in a security-related role with the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority.
Pandey’s background could be particularly relevant to the Ram Mandir because security and crowd management are expected to be major responsibilities for the new CEO. The temple attracts huge numbers of devotees, requiring coordination among the Trust, police, district administration and other agencies.
Yogeshwar Ram Mishra: Ex-Ayodhya DM With Administrative Experience
Retired IAS officer Yogeshwar Ram Mishra brings a different kind of experience to the competition. His direct association with Ayodhya administration is considered one of his key strengths.
Mishra has served as Ayodhya’s District Magistrate and therefore has experience dealing with the city’s administration, religious gatherings, public movement, security coordination and the challenges created by large-scale pilgrim activity.
His broader administrative experience has also included work connected with major infrastructure and religious-tourism projects, including responsibilities associated with the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. This background could prove valuable for a CEO who will have to coordinate temple operations with several government and civic agencies.
For the Ram Mandir Trust, having a candidate who already understands Ayodhya’s administrative ecosystem could be a significant advantage.
Paresh Saxena: Senior Police And Administrative Experience
The third prominent name is reported as Paresh Saxena, with some reports spelling the name as Pravesh Saxena. He is identified in recent coverage as a former senior Bihar police officer and former Bihar DGP.
Saxena’s background adds another strong security and operational dimension to the CEO race. His experience at the senior level of the police administration could be useful in managing security arrangements, emergency situations, VIP movements and coordination with law-enforcement agencies.

After completing the selection process, the committee submitted three names to the Trust. The final authority now rests with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
