BTS’s worldwide fans are excited since the group’s members have fulfilled their military duties. Importantly, in 2024 two members will complete their military service, sparking great enthusiasm among BTS’s fans.

Since 1950, all physically able-bodied men in South Korea serve in the military for about 18 months. BTS members started enlisting for military service toward the end of 2022 and chose to carry out their national responsibility first. Out of the brothers, Jin was the first to enlist, on December 2022, and so ended his service two years from December, on June 2024, with everyone really celebrating when he returned. Not long after BTS’ leader, J-Hope announced he would be joining in April 2023 and he will be finishing his time in October 2024. These events matter a lot, as they make the group feel much closer, bringing them a step closer to complete reunification in the future.

Because BTS members were able to pursue individual activities, they did not fully dissolve, but the main benefit of their teamwork has not been seen for now. The combination of Jin’s comeback and J-Hope getting out soon will influence the way the band works. Since two of their members have returned to continue their service, the other four who plan to serve in 2023-2025 bring about a clear sign of progress towards when all BTS members will be reunited. Doing smaller activities or projects together at this point grows both students’ and teachers’ anticipation for all coming back together.
