State-Wise Surge in COVID Cases Across India
Nearly 3000 COVID cases are currently active in India with Kerala experiencing the most recent wave of infections followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. Within four days there was a sharp increase in cases according to official data. India reported 1010 cases overall by May 26 however as of May 30 the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s official data indicates 2710 infections.
State-Wise COVID Case Numbers
The data shows that Maharashtra has 424 cases Delhi has 294 cases Gujarat has 223 cases and Kerala has 1147 cases. Thus far Tamil Nadu has reported 148 cases whereas West Bengal and Karnataka have reported 116 and 148 cases respectively.
51 cases have been reported in Rajasthan 42 in Uttar Pradesh 25 in Puducherry 20 in Haryana 16 in Andhra Pradesh 10 in Madhya Pradesh 7 in Goa and 4 in each of Odisha Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh and Chandigarh have all reported three cases while Mizoram and Assam have each so far found two cases of the infection.
Andaman and Nicobar Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh have not reported any active cases. Bihars official data is still unavailable.
Reported COVID Deaths
According to data at least seven people died in India in recent weeks. The deaths of two individuals in Delhi (1) and Maharashtra (1) were caused by Covid-19 and other serious illnesses. Whether additional people perished as a result of the infection is still unknown.
According to officials all of the deceased with the exception of the Punjabi one were elderly.

Official Response and Public Advisory
Officials have stated that there is no reason to panic as the coronavirus cases are mild in nature.
Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated earlier this week that the agencies are keeping an eye on the situation and emphasized the importance of being alert.
The public doesn’t have to be concerned about this new Covid-19 variant. All we have to do is exercise caution. All of the government’s agencies are keeping an eye on the situation. But we usually advise people to avoid infections if they have cancer or immune system issues. It is necessary to take precautions, he stated.

Current Dominant Variants in India
