The revised calendar for the rest of IPL 2025 season has to be officially disclosed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday.
IPL 2025 Revised Dates Soon: BCCI Likely to Confirm Schedule Today
The revised calendar for the rest of IPL 2025 season has to be officially disclosed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday. This is after the test match was abruptly shut down due to the linebacker of India – Pakistan border tensions. In view of the new schedule, it is expected that the cricket enthusiasts and club representatives would have they clearest idea of where and when the remaining matches are to be staged.
Jam-packed with a ceasefire declared at the weekend, the BCCI has vowed to save the commercial T20 contest. Board members have proposed that all remaining fixtures should slot into a two-week timeframe to allow IPL to be finished off ahead of the start of international undertakings in June. To compensate for the missed fixtures, the new timetable may take in the form of including more double games.
And from the reports that have been in the air recently, the BCCI has narrowed down Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad as possible sites for hosting the final 16 matches that will include the playoffs. These places were selected, as they will provide the best logistical support and consider the modern security situation.
After Dharamsala was the host city for the unfinished match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals that brought the league’s suspension, it is not expected to host any other matches. Because of weather uncertainty or change of schedule, the last game could be played in a different city, where Ahmedabad could be a possibility.
After the IPL break, many players from abroad left this job to go to their national teams or back to their countries. The BCCI reports have approached the franchises to urge the resumption of the movement of international players to join their squads quickly. As well, there remain doubts over the involvement of leading foreign talents, along with their preexisting timetables and possible obstacles connected to travel.
It will be a logistical challenge for the BCCI and the franchises with the revised schedule. They will have to organize travel, accommodation, and make sure players are available to meet strict deadlines with careful planning, communication, and organization. The BCCI has told all teams (except Punjab Kings; who were in Dharamsala) to gather their players at the specified venues by Tuesday, May 13. If the teams can all meet that requirement, the BCCI may be able to restart the IPL on Thursday or Friday (May 16 or 17).
The final will now most likely be around late May, with some reports stating that it will be held on about May 30 as opposed to the originally scheduled May 25. This delay of only about 5 days simply reflects the lost time of the suspended competition and the effort to fit all matches that needed to be played before determining the remaining schedule.

The announcement of the revised schedule today will bring the current IPL season much-needed clarity. Fans have been eager to watch the remaining matches and how the playoffs will play out, and franchises will now be focused on developing strategies based on the scheduled matches and who is available. The BCCI now needs to focus on closing the tournament smoothly and successful amidst these unfortunate time and logistic constraints. Everyone will be watching the official announcement later today.
