Police stated that the agencies, one led by a person identified as Nitin Chauhan and the second by Amit, were fighting. Head constable Ajay Yadav who was patrolling at the location tried to interrupt and put a halt to the dispute however it changed into an attack with stones.

“Two men  specifically Nitin Chauhan and Amit have sustained injuries in the stated incident”. On inquiry, it was discovered that both the groups had animosity.

An FIR has been lodged by the police under sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, being armed with a deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly to be prosecuted for offenses of the Indian Penal Code,” said Amrutha.

Deputy commissioner of police (east) Amrutha G said the Mayur Vihar police station received a call on Thursday that there was firing and stone pelting at 17-21 street in Trilokpuri.

The DCP said that there was nothing to aid the preliminary firing document in the area.
