A 65-yr-old woman lost her life, who was admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh after she got seriously burned in an attempt to control  forest fire at her farm that reached in a village.

In Uttarakhand, where the forest fire is still going on, the head of the Weather Institute in Dehradun, Singh Bikram, informed that there a will be chance of rain for the state from May 07 to 08, and it will intensify from May 11. His opinion is that this can help the firefighters put out the bush flames and successfully end the fire.

The latest update on the forest fire is the bulletin released by the forest department that there were the 24 incidents of forest fire within 0.25 hectare in the last 24 hours.

In Thapli village cum Saturday, Savitri Devi found out the fire engulfing her farm approaching the forest. She visited a place where grass bundles were kept before the blaze but was caught, the regional disaster agency said. She was moved to AIIMS of Rishikesh whereafter her death was declared during the course of treatment in early hours of Sunday, as per the statement. The forest department officials have charged four people namely Piyush Singh, Ayush Singh, Rahul Singh and Ankit with an alleged outraging of the natural atmosphere of Gangolihat forest of Pithoragarh on the basis of the Indian Forest Act.

Mr. Singh told that the rainfall will start on 7 May in the Kumaon Region and on 8 May in Garwhal Region.

CM Dhami Pushkar Singh asked the Chief Secretary Radha Raturi to brief the District Magistrates for the next week around the same and to be alert on forest fire monitoring. Chief minister Dhami in the same time, directed all District Magistrates to give full orders for the complete ban on all kinds of burning of fodders immediately.
