Yashraj’s Gunday Boasts of Being Shot in Actual Coal Mines


‘Gunday’ is the upcoming film of Yashraj banner that seem quite promising. Gunday was among the last few stories narrated to Late Romance maestro Yash Chopra. He gave his valuable inputs and loved the subject.


Yashji insisted that the director Ali should shoot ‘Gunday’ in actual coal mines.


Yash Chopra recommended some interesting coal mines where the film could be shot.

Finally open cast mines of Raniganj around 3 hours away from Kolkata were confirmed for shooting the film.


No film whatsoever has been shot in this area.


Ali says that Yashji’s idea of shooting ‘Gunday’ in real location was amazing and it has been an extraordinary experience both for the film’s crew and for the entire cast. This has added an element of reality in portraying film’s characters and storyline.


Gunday is schedule for release on February 14th. After the disastrous start of 2014 with ‘Jai Ho’, Bollywood is expecting a hit in the form of ‘Gunday’. The film has some outstanding performances of Arjun Kapoor, Priynaka Chopra and Ranveer Singh.


Yashraj banner and Priyanka Kapoor is the USP of the film.


Whether ‘Gunday’ can relive the success gained by ‘Dhoom 3’ or not is yet to be seen.
