Bangladesh has some exciting talent in their team who can make a difference
Bangladesh has come a long way from where they started. From being the party-breakers in 2007 World Cup to becoming the potential semi-finalists in this World Cup, they have upped the ante. Bangladesh has defeated South Africa and West Indies till now also came close to defeating New Zealand. They have looked good with some tremendous performance from the all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Liton Das. Here are 5 players who can help their team go big in this cricketing extravaganza.
Shakib Al Hasan
The experienced all-rounder from Bangladesh is currently ruling the World Cup with his amazing all-around abilities. One of the best all-rounders has dominated the opposition’s bowling in almost every match he has played. He has scored 384 runs at an average of 124 and strike rate of 103.78.
The pocket-sized dynamite is one of the best finishers in the Bangladeshi team. He has been in the side for quite some time and has finished matches for his teams. The wicket-keeper batsman is next to the star all-rounder Shakib in making runs. He has scored 142 runs till now which is below par but we will see his stats changing as we progress more into the World Cup.
Also known as “The Fizz” was a sensation two years back but it seems like he has lost his touch with the ball now. It is said in Cricket that “Form is temporary and class is permanent” so we never know when he can come back and make a big impact on the team. He has delivered some good spells till now in the World Cup. He is definitely on our watch list in the coming World Cup.
Liton Das is getting his name in place of Mahmudullah for a reason. He has been in good form lately and scored some valuable runs at crucial times. That innings against West Indies a few days ago totally changed the match where he scored 94 of just 69 balls which included four sixes. He has played only one match till now and he has impressed us a lot.
We were in a dilemma in choosing between this spinner and the pacer Mohammad Saifuddin who is currently the leading wicket-taker. We chose the off-spinner for a reason that he is very miser when it comes to giving runs. His economy reads 4.55 in 32 matches long ODI career.
