India has four wicket-keepers in the today’s playing eleven in INDvsBAN
Dinesh Karthik and Bhuvenshwar Kumar were included in the INDvsBAN match at Birmingham. This will be the first match for veteran Dinesh Karthik in World Cup 2019. Rishabh has been given second chance in the game after Vijay Shankar was ruled out of World Cup 2019 due to a toe injury. This is a huge opportunity for both the Wicket-keeper batsman to strengthen their case for rest of the upcoming matches in World Cup and after the World Cup if MS Dhoni bids goodbye to ODI career.
Rishabh Pant has the capability to change the game at will
We all know the capability of Rishabh Pant when it comes to scoring quick and big runs. Like the present Indian captain has said once the southpaw plays 30 balls, he could dismantle any bowling unit. The dynamic batsman can hit sixes at will and can play some adventures stroke to please fans eyes. He has done well in IPL and in Test matches for India.
Dinesh Karthik changed his batting style and evolved as a finisher
Dinesh Karthik has been very unfortunate throughout his career for not finding a place in the Indian team because of the legendary MS Dhoni. Whatever chances he was given, he threw it away in the early stage of his career. He worked on his skills and performed well in domestic cricket which brought him as a batsman in the squad. The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman has played well in whatever chances he got after his redemption. He has played some quick fire small innings in last 2 years and helped India finish the inning well. Who could forget his last ball six against Bangladesh in the Nidhas Trophy final?
Both the players will look to contribute something to the team as there are plenty of wicket-keepers today in the team. KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will be fielding in the outfield as MS Dhoni will take the gloves himself.
