What ‘taking rest’ can mean to a person. Here is how ‘Rest’ can look like

What ‘rest’ can look like? Why some people are resistant to taking rest

We have glorified working so much that we don’t realize what burnouts are, and there is no surprise, resting is not something that we embrace. There have been so many times, people take pride in saying how much they have worked, and see their burnouts as an ornament. Being constantly on the go perhaps can be a sign of being in form, productive but always being on the go and giving yourself trophies for the same can be a problem for your physical and mental health. And yet when they choose to take the time off, for resting, the resting time often shapes in the form of an off time, that they choose to dedicate to activities they have been overlooking for long.

We did small research asking people some simple questions about what resting means to them, what are the signs that make them feel they need rest, and what all activities can’t be included in their ‘Rest-day’ schedule, but before we go on to that, let’s see why resting is important.

Why resting is important?

If the question ever pops that ‘why to rest?’ then the simplest answer to the same is ‘to survive’. A person needs rest to grow, regrow, and rejuvenate the part they have lost while working. It is to bring those parts back which they have lost while working.

Generally, resting means letting the body be in a physical and mental state of rest and is different from taking a break. How an ideal resting day can look like?

An ideal resting day should be a day where you are awarding yourself with care. Where you are indulging in self-love, self-care, yet not letting yourself go in a spell of work, not exerting yourself out, and taking the time in doing things for fun and enjoyment, and even choosing not to do anything at all.
