Athlete From MP, Chinki Yadav Becomes First To Secure World No.1 Rank


Chinki Yadav has become the first athlete from Madhya Pradesh to win a national championship in any sport. She is the daughter of an electrician, scored 588 after shooting 296 in the finals. She had also secured the Olympics quota for at Asian Shooting Championship in Doha in 2019.  with 1,110 rating points after winning two gold medals in a row at the ongoing world championship in Delhi, she has become the world’s top-ranked pistol shooter.

Saina Nehwal, in the Orleans Masters tournament, gets defeated by Denmark’s Line Christophersen in the semifinal round

In two consecutive matches in just 28 minutes, a 21-year-old Danish opponent defeated the Indian badminton champion, Saina Nehwal. Both the matches ended on 21-17, leading to Christophersen getting in straight to the final round of the Orleans Masters tournament.

Harmanpreet Kaur tested COVID Positive

Indian T20 Women’s Cricket Team caption, Harmanpreet Kaur got tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday and has been in home quarantine. After a spell of mild fever for four days before she got herself tested for COVID. The doctors mentioned that she will recover soon. While on the South Africa series, she was tested regularly, so the doctors suspect that she has got it after the series.

On social media, a video of Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan losing her temper after “campaigning for over an hour” went viral. She says, even for the Chief Minister, I won’t do this.

16-year-old Rape Survivor made to parade with her rapist

In a tribal-dominated village, a 16-year old was allegedly raped on Sunday and later, was made to walk along with her attacker. The viral video showed the survivor being tied with the accused by ropes and people marching around them with slogans like Bharat Maata ki Jai. The whole scene was designed to put the women on the pedestal of shame for being raped.

After Delhi, Punjab Government Approves Free Travel For Women For Buses In Punjab From April 1

On March 5, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh announced a resolution, declared the free travel system for women. The government’s initiative to encourage women in the state included a free travel system for women. The scheme will support over 1.31 crore women in Punjab, according to a spokesperson. According to the 2011 Census, Punjab has a population of 1.3 million inhabitants of which 1,31,03,873 are women. The scheme will ease out this for female travellers.

Seema Thakur, first HRTC women driver to drive cross borders

On Thursday, Seema Thakur, a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) driver became the first woman to drive on an interstate route. Until now, she has been driving within the state. On Thursday, she drove the bus on the Shimla-Chandigarh route, becoming the first women driver on the interstate route.

Actor-Politician Kirron Kher Suffers From Blood Cancer

Anupam Kher, Kirron Kher’s husband on his Instagram, made a post regarding Kirran suffering from Blood Cancer. Also, Arun Sood, the president of the Chandigarh BJP, announced in a virtual press conference on Wednesday that veteran actor Kirron Kher is suffering from multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. The actor is taking treatment in Mumbai itself.

A 6-year-old girl called out sexism, asks ‘Man-Made’ & Not ‘Human Made’

“Aren’t women allowed to build?… Then why don’t they say human-made? It’s not nice, right?” – said the 6-year old girl. The video that went viral includes a recorded video shot by her mother while the girl was asking her this question while reading the biography of Abraham Lincoln that was meant for children.

Veteran Actress Shashi Kala passed away

Shashikala, one of the great women leads of the Indian Classics passed away on Sunday. The exact reason for her demise is yet unknown and the family is yet to release any official statement. The actor had a real long filmography to count on. She received Filmfare Award for her roles in Aarti and Gumrah.
