Ukraine is not the only country in recent years under attack. In 2021, the world was worried about Afghanistan when the Taliban took control.

As the Taliban forces invaded the capital Kabul, then Afghan president Ashraf Ghani chose to flee from the country allegedly with all the money and wealth he could carry along.

Emma Graham-Harrison, a western journalist who writes for the Guardian, compared Zelensky’s situation to Ashraf Ghani’s while his capital was surrounded.

“In the face of a surrounded Ukraine and its president refusing to leave, I am reminded of a tweet that Emma sent six months ago when there was a surrounded capital, almost the same thing.”

According to her, Ashraf Ghani abandoned Kabul and its people to the Taliban.

Where is Ashraf Ghani?

Ghani is in the United Arab Emirates. In a recent interview with the BBC, ex-Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that as the Taliban approached the nation’s boundaries. Therefore, he had no choice left but to leave the country abruptly. He also added that his adviser only gave him a couple of minutes to make a decision. Ghani dismissed all the accusations of flying with loads of money with him.

Some people, in contrast, have retouched pictures of former Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his vice president Amrullah Saleh dressed in Ukrainian military uniforms and captioning them as having joined Ukraine’s forces to fight off Russia.

Do you think a state chief only has to gather votes and enjoy the public assets, or they should stand by his mother in bad times also?
