Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar has been ruled out from the World Cup due to toe Injury. Vijay Shankar met injury from a deadly Yorker from Jasprit Bumrah and will return to India soon. The blow didn’t look that bad at the start ended up crushing Shankar’s hopes to play another match in the World Cup. BCCI will soon contact ICC to request for an official replacement very soon.

Vijay Shankar was hit on the toe in net session for the second time by the world number 1 bowler in the ODIS. He didn’t play the match against England and Risabh Pant was given the chance at his place. Indian Captain Virat Kohli informed at the toss that during the England match where he said that the all-rounder had a toe niggle and the signs were not good.

Mayank Agarwal likely to be the replacement of Vijay Shankar

It is speculated that Mayank Agarwal can be called as the replacement of Shankar. Mayank Agarwal will fill the void of an opening slot which will give KL Rahul his previous position at number 4. The Karnataka opener made his Test debut against Australia last year and did well in his debut match. Agarwal has been a consistent run-maker in the domestic circuit in the last few years.

After the injury of Shikhar Dhawan, India has been struggling to get good starts

India has struggled to get a flashy start since Shikhar Dhawan got injured. India has not scored fast runs in the first powerplay which has dented the final score. Mayank Agarwal will definitely solve the problems for opening batting for India.
