Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off India’s first engineless and fastest train Vande Bharat Express on February 15 from the New Delhi Railway station, a senior official of the ministry told to a leading news agency. This train is going to be India’s fastest train with a speed of 180 kmph.
Important Details about the train
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal recently named Train 18 as ‘Vande Bharat Express’. It has been manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai at a cost of Rs 100 crore. For the trial run, it will run on the Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani route.
According to the officials “PM Modi will flag off the train at 10 am on February 15 and there will be a function in which PM Modi will give a speech as well.” The official also said that “this is the Railways first indigenous train, it is a matter of great pride for us.”
Eventually, the 16 coach train will replace the 30-year-old Shatabdi express and the train will run between Delhi and Varanasi. It will become the fastest train in India. This train will be fully air-conditioned and all the equipment will be fixed under the carriage. It will offer the passengers more comfort and more space is available on the board. It doesn’t require a locomotive as it is structured like a metro train.
