USA lawmaker announced the apology on Twitter

Congressmen Brad Sherman apologized to India after Trump’s mediation remarks between India and Pakistan. The USA Lawmaker also clarified things that the issue of Pakistan and India is totally their bilateral matter.

USA Congressmen Brad Sherman took to Twitter to announce the apology. He wrote “I just apologized to Indian Ambassador @HarshShringla for Trump’s amateurish and embarrassing mistake.

He clarified things in the other tweet writing “Everyone who knows anything about foreign policy in South Asia knows that #India consistently opposes third-party mediation re #Kashmir. Everyone knows PM Modi would never suggest such a thing. Trump’s statement is amateurish and delusional. And embarrassing. ½”

Earlier USA President, Donald Trump said that Indian Prime Minister asked him to become the mediator on Kashmir issue during the meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. He also said that he will play the role of mediator after Imran Khan asked him the same.

Trump’s remarks are against the New Delhi’s stand which has always said that Kashmir issue is bilateral between India and Pakistan. India has always said that there is no scope of third party involvement in the issue.

Remarks brought strong reactions from Ministry of External Affairs

After the controversial remark by American President, Ministry of External Affairs have given a strong reaction. According to reports, India has lodged a protest in the White House.

The Claims came as a big shock as the US has always maintained the stand on Kashmir issue keeping it a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan.

First, the White House came with the clarification that the US maintains the stand that issue between India and Pakistan should be solved internally. They also said the USA thinks India of closest and important allies. A joint statement by the chairs of the House India Caucus read ‘We look forward to working with PM Modi and India officials to combat terrorism and extremism everywhere”.
