The BJP government will be celebrating the Independence Day in a grand way, while highlighting its “pro-poor” and some nationalist agenda the party will carry out ‘Tiranga Yatra’ as part of celebration for a week.
These celebrations related to August 15 were the centre of deliberations at the BJP part meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Modi along with some senior leaders. The Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said that they have worked out some of the details, but the final plan will be out only after discussions with party president Amit Shah.
However, BJP sources have said that the party is likely to carry out yatra for a week from August 15-22 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Independence Day.
Modi has also referred to the ‘Vikas Parv’, during which the government and the party office bearers held over 200 events to further publicise his dispensation’s “successes” in its two years in power, and had also said the exercise was very successful and people responded to it enthusiastically.
