Short film based on demonetization ‘The Change’ is all set to hit screens, check out the trailer here
Bollywood has already set a trend by making the movies on real life incidents. From Talvaars to Dark Chocolate, Dangal, Sultan all are the films which are based on real people that actually exist between us. Thanks to all directors and producers who tries to show the reality through these wonderful films. The trailer of Sameer Khan’s short film The Change: It’s Just the beginning…based on the country’s hottest topic – demonetization has been released on the digital platforms.
Demonetization has changed our lives, it has drastically impacted everybody’s normal life and Sameer Khan tries to capture the reality in the film. The film features TV actors like Drashti Dhami and Rajeev Thakur and actor/model Shawar Ali.
Sameer Khan shares his idea on the film
Trailer is already exciting for all of us. Director who is also a writer, Sameer Khan was quoted saying that “The film is made on five demonetization based stories from different lifestyles whose end is similar.” Regarding the casting in the film, he said: “Drashti is a very dear friend of mine. When I told her about the film, she said I will do it for you. She had a faith on me, so I had to live up to it.”
He further added, “It is a 20 minute film. It explores relationships like of a businessman couple, a father with his daughter who is going to get married, and also between a maid and her lady boss.” When he was asked that why he made film on demonetization, he answered, “When this decision was announced, I was sitting with my friends, I thought I can make a film on it. I kept writing and finally it came out very nice. I am not giving any message to (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi ji. I am just showing the cinematic version of current reality as a filmmaker.”
Film releasing date
According to director, Sameer Khan special screening of the film we held on December 21 and on December 22 film will hit the screens. “The Change” has been produced by Color 9 Entertainment & Arti Puri. The music is given by Sajid-Wajid.
