According to William Chopic Assistant Professor of Psychology at Michigan State University said that “This finding significantly broadens assumptions about the relationship between happiness and health suggesting a unique social link. In a recent study which was conducted on 1,981 middle age couples researchers found that people with happy spouses were much more likely to report better health over time”.

Earlier previous studies have also proved that happy people lives healthy and long lasting life but Chopic wanted to take this research at another level by exploring the health effects of interpersonal relationships. As per his point of view happy partners likely provide stronger social support such as care taking as compared to unhappy partners, who are focused on their own stressors. The study showed no difference impact on husband and wives behavior in the study. The study was published by the American Psychological Association in the journal Health Psychology.
