Sharad Kelkar, an actor who made the Right Choices
While talking of Manish Paul during a podcast Sharad said, “Mai Zyada Sochta Nhi Bas Apna Kaam Karta jaa raha hoon. As an actor, if you want to grow you should keep trying different things and I am doing that. Agar Logon Ko pasand aa raha hai, I am grateful to them.”
Sharad Kelkar, an actor who has made a mark in the industry. Today, he needs no introduction as his incredible work speaks from him. Sharad, who started off as a television actor has come a long way. From films to web series, this phenomenal actor has proved that talent pays off sooner or later in life. Recently, he was seen in Bhuj alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn, he earned a lot of praise for his character. Sharad Kelkar has been a part of many big films of Bollywood including Ram- Leela, Bhoomi, Laxmi, Tanhaji, and Bhuj. We all loved him in Laxmi and he received a lot of love for picking up not–so–conventional roles. A lot of times, actors are sceptical about picking up a certain role, but then, there are actors like Sharad Kelkar who pick up characters that inspire many other actors. Sharad has proved – You become a successful actor when you make the right choices at the right time.
Before making his career into acting Sharad was a Personal Gym trainer and wanted to join Defence
Sharad Kelkar was born and brought up in Gwalior. He wanted to join defence but things didn’t work out the way he wanted. Later, he worked as a personal gym trainer and his first paycheck was Rs.2500. During the podcast with Manish Paul, Sharad also shared his backstory. He revealed that he was also out of credit cards in his life. There was a point when he had no money and a plethora of liabilities.
Sharad revealed that his stammering never made him conscious & urged people who face the problem should not feel demoralized!
The actor also revealed that rejection never bothered him. Sharad talked about his stammering problem candidly. He said stammering never impacted his confidence. In fact, he thanked his wife for helping him a lot to overcome it. He worked on his breathing, pronunciation and dictions – and we got – The actor “Sharad Kelkar”. He also talked about – Ki Meri English achi nhi hai- But we know –Talent doesn’t have a language. Talent is Talent. Today, language is no barrier – many prominent personalities have proved it.
Sharad believes that Part Matters, not the footage
Sharad Kelkar incredible work has proved that part of the film matters, not the footage. He made the right choices. He believes that he has learnt a lot from all his characters. His character Tanhaji was pole apart from his character in Laxmi – And that’s what a good actor does, he makes a smooth transition.
Say No without a Guilt
Sharad believes a lot of times he has to say ‘No’ to some projects. He urged makers not to take it personally because it is not about the attitude, it is about dates or sometimes it doesn’t go with the actor’s idea.
