First banking robot Laxmi has launched today
India is growing rapidly in every sector. Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. First interactive, superfast and of course eye catching banking robot Laxmi made her debut today in the city.
Qualities of Robot
This innovative robot Laxmi is launched by the Kumbakonam-based City Union Bank , the artificial intelligence powered robot will be the first on-site bank helper.
On other hand, the various Banks are still testing to come up with their own robots in order to answer the queries of people.
Top private lender HDFC Bank, which is also experimenting with robots to answer customer queries, is testing its humanoid at its innovation lab.
Robot Laxmi is an outcome of six months of hard work and it can answer intelligently on more than 125 subjects.
What all it can answer?
Robot Laxmi is entirely a banking robot and it is answerable to various bank queries. Want to know your account balance? Interest rates on home loans?
Deferred payments or possible charges to be incurred on fixed deposit closure? Lakshmi can answer it all.
N Kamakodi, MD and CEO, City Union Bank was quoted saying that , “Apart from answering generic questions, we have also programmed it to connect to the core banking solution. If a customer wants to know his bank account details or transaction history, the robot can flash the answer on its display.”
It is said that some personal financial information like account details are displayed discreetly on the robot’s screen and not voiced. With joking tone CEO further added “Lakshmi only talks out loud on generic subjects. If you visited our branch with your girlfriend, she won’t embarrass you by showing your low account balance.”
This feature was much needed. Laxmi will converse in English language but turns around and engages in a very life-like manner in conversations.
Robot Laxmi’s speech is very much normal and not like other robots.
Bank executive was quoted saying that “since artificial intelligence, the robot is constantly learning from customers – the more interactions it has with customers the better it gets.”
What so if she is unable to solve your query?
Well, after all its a robot so how can she provide solutions to all your problems. Don’t worry, if Robot Laxmi is unable to do so she then asks you to get in touch with the branch manager.
But at the back-end, team will be collecting all the questions she was unable to answer and equip her with better data sets, so she can give good service to customers.
