RCB on a roll after winning 4 of their last 5 matches
Royal Challengers Banglore defeated Kings Eleven Punjab by 17 runs at their home ground yesterday making 4 wins in last five matches. AB De Villiers scored an unbeaten 82 of 44 balls including 3 fours and 7 sixes and helped his team to post a mammoth total of 202 in designated 20 overs. After losing the toss they were put into bat first by the visitors. RCB lost their captain early but then Wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel played some good attacking shots to ensure a good powerplay.

RCB scored their highest powerplay score of this year as they reached 70 runs in their first six overs. Murugan Ashwin came and took the wicket of Parthiv Patel with a googly and broke the momentum of the game. ABD and Stoinis took their time and scored 64 runs last three overs in a partnership of 121 runs in 66 balls.
In response, KXIP started well when Chris Gayle went berserk in his small innings of 27 from 10 balls. Once the top three were sent back to the pavilion, Ashwin’s team couldn’t recover and lost the match. Umesh Yadav bowled an amazing last spell where he gave only 15 runs and took two wickets.

With this win, RCB will fancy their chances on reaching the top four positions. as they climbed to 7th position in the Points table. Every year When Virat Kohli’s team starts the season, lots of expectations lie on them but like always, they had a bad start where they lost all their first six matches. Since then, the team has taken a u-turn and have started to win games. The biggest problem for them has been their reliability on ABD and Captain Virat Kohli.
The equation for RCB to reach the Playoffs
RCB has is now standing at 7th position with 4 wins in 11 matches. RCB can’t afford to lose any match from here. They will have to win all the matches by big margins so that when it comes to Net Run Rate they have an upper hand on other teams. Winning all the matches will take them to 14 points which may clash with SRH, KKR or KXIP. RCB fans have to pray that apart from the top three, other teams lose their matches by big margins.
