Lawyer Ram Jethmalani has quit as Kejriwal’s Counsel
According to reports, Lawyer Ram Jethamalani has quit as Arvind Kejriwal’s counsel in the civil and criminal defamation cases which were filed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Notably, the lawyer has written a letter to the CM, accusing him of using offensive language against Jaitley during private discussions on the case.
The lawyer has asked Delhi CM settle his legal fees amounting to more than 2 crore. The lawyer used an offensive word an offensive word, amounting to accusing Jaitley being a criminal, during the hearing of 10 crore defamation case against Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders.
Notably, Finance Minister asked Jethmalani if the word was spoken on his client’s instruction. The lawyer replied in affirmative and Jaitley filed another 10 crore suit against the CM.
After this, Arvind Kejriwal filed an affidavit in Delhi Court and wrote a letter to Ram Jethmalani saying he had not instructed him to use any derogatory word against Arun Jaitley.
Ram Jethmalani has now quit as CM’s lawyer and asked him to settle his legal fee of Rs.2 crore.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister’s office has refused to say anything on this matter. They said that they have no intimation on Jethmalani withdrawing from the case so far.
