CWC might call another meeting in coming week over Rahul Gandhi’s Resignation matter


Rahul is still intact to his decision of resigning from the post of Congress party President as per the sources. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi offered his resignation in the CWC meeting held on 25th May. The press conference after the meeting revealed that Rahul’s resignation was disapproved by the full majority of the CWC members. Congress may call another meeting in the coming week to discuss the matter.

He has asked Ahmed Patel to look for a new Party President

After the humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha Elections, Rahul Gandhi took the responsibility of defeat and came up with resignation. In a recent update in Rahul Gandhi’s resignation matter, it has been found that Rahul has not met the newly elected MPs and canceled his appointments. Congress President also said to Ahmed Patel that he is still firm on his resignation stand and asked him to look for a new Party President.

During the CWC meeting, he said: “We need someone who can lead Congress in a better way and bring back the winning days for Congress.” When a member of Congress Working Committee suggested Priyanka Gandhi’s name for it, He said: “Don’t drag my sister into it”. He also opted out his mother’s name from it and suggested to consider someone who is not a part of the Gandhi family.

CWC members asked Rahul to do “Complete Overhaul”

CWC members said in the meeting that Rahul Gandhi isn’t the only one responsible for Congress loss. All other members are equally responsible for it. They asked Rahul to stay and do the ‘Complete Overhaul’ of the party. They said to Rahul “You can make changes as per your choices and we will be there to support you, you can bring more youth if you want.”
