Rahul Gandhi to visit Wayanad for the first time after Lok Sabha Elections


The visit will mark the rare celebration of Congress party-workers

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will start his Kerala’s three-day visit from today onwards. This is the first visit of Congress President in Kerala after he was elected as the Member of Parliament from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala. He will be meeting the party workers and the citizens of Kerala’s constituency where he won the national election.

Congress president took to Twitter to announce his visit

Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to announce his visit to Wayanad. He wrote “I will be in Wayanad, Kerala starting this afternoon and till Sunday to meet citizens & Congress Party workers. It’s a packed schedule with over 15 public receptions planned over the next 3 days” on Twitter.

Congress had a decimal performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Election where BJP defeated them with a big margin. Rahul Gandhi’s visit in Kerala will be a rare and small celebration for the Congress party -workers.

The trip will last three days, from 7th June to 9th June

The visit is scheduled in three districts in from 7th November to 9th November. Mr. Gandhi will be visiting Malappuram first and then will head to Wayanad and Kozhikode.

Congress along with its allies won 19 of 20 seats in 17th Lok Sabha Elections. INC won 15 seats on its own. Rahul Gandhi won Wayanad seat by a huge margin of 4.31 lakhs. He defeated P P Suneer from CPI party by getting almost 40% more votes than him.

This was the first time Rahul was contesting election from two constituencies. He lost the dynastic seat from Amethi to BJP’s Smriti Irani.
