Congress general secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi will visit Uttar Pradesh for the first time after the massive defeat in the recent Lok Sabha Elections.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Wadra will head to Rae Bareli on Tuesday evening and will take part in the meeting schedule on June 12 to review the poor performance of the Indian National Congress (INC) in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections.

The marathon meetings will be attended by the district presidents

The marathon meetings will be attended by the district presidents of the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh along with some other senior leaders in Raebareli. The meeting is said to last late in the presence of Priyanka Gandhi.

Congress general secretary in-charge of Western Uttar Pradesh Jyotiraditya Scindia will also review the meetings in Lucknow on June 14 and in Delhi on June 11.

President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Raj Baabar, Jyotiraditya Scindia and others attended the meeting which was held on 4th June at the Priyanka Gandhi’s residence in New Delhi. The aim of the meeting was to build the party again at the block level like the rival BJP.

Sonia Gandhi retained the Raebareli seat by defeating the rival BJP

Sonia Gandhi won the bastion seat of Raebareli by defeating the BJP’s candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh by more than 1.67 lakh votes.

Congress went through a crushing defeat in latest Lok Sabha Polls where they won only 52 seats. It was 8 more than the previous general elections where they got 44. As per the leaders, Congress lost many seats which they should have won. Rahul Gandhi lost the dynastic seat from Amethi. BJP leader and union minister in current government Smriti Irani defeated Congress President by more than 55,000 votes.
