Indian Prime Minister met US President, members of BRICS and crown prince of Saudi Arabia in G20 summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Osaka, Japan for 14th G20 summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met various world leaders at the meeting including US President Donald Trump to strengthen India’s diplomatic ties. He talked on various topics varying from the power of technology, improvement of defence, security ties relating to trade between India and the USA during his bilateral meeting with Donald Trump.

Indian Prime Minister tweeted a post which said that ‘India stands committed to further deepen economic and cultural relations with the United States of America.”

Donald Trump had earlier said that retaliatory tariffs of India is unacceptable

In a tweet yesterday, Donald Trump has said that imposition of new tariffs from India was unacceptable and India should withdraw it.

Foreign Secretary of India Vijay Gokhale said that the two leaders did not discuss the about India’s deal of $5-billion with Russia for defence systems.

In the bilateral meeting, there were talks on Iran issue where both leaders talked on ensuring the stability as instability affects both countries in many ways.

A trilateral meeting of India-America- Japan was held during G20 summit

Before the bilateral meet with US President, Narendra Modi met Japan’s Prime Minister Shino Abe and US President in a trilateral meet of India-Japan-America. PM Modi talked on the India-Japan bilateral relationship. The leaders also discussed the importance of focusing on the global economy.

Prime Minister also met the members of BRICS and tweeted  “The BRICS family comes together yet again! Delighted to meet BRICS leaders. Shared my thoughts on the importance of access to energy and energy security, making WTO mechanisms stronger and fighting protectionism and close cooperation to eliminate forces of terror.”

Indian Prime Minister met the Crown prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman and reviewed the full range of relations between India and Saudi Arabia.
