Rajnath Singh condemned even the thinking of Pragya Thakur

BJP MP from Bhopal Pragya Singh Thakur was removed from the consultative committee of the Rajnath Singh led defence ministry on Thursday.  This comes a day after she described Nathu Ram Godse (assassin of Mahatma Gandhi) a patriot. A repeat offender, Thakur has done it before too.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while condemning his party MP on record in Lok Sabha today said, “Not Just calling Godse a deshbhakt (patriot) but we also condemn even thinking. The ideology of Mahatma Gandhi is still relevant.

Earlier, BJP had also denounced the comments of Pragya Thakur and declared that she will be dropped from the parliamentary committee on defence headed by Defence Minister. BJP working President, JP Nadda said that we have decided to remove Pragya Singh Thakur from the defence panel. She will not be allowed to participate in Parliamentary Party meetings of BJP in this session.

Pragya Thakur in her defence asked people not to get swayed in the storm of lies

Pragya Thakur Singh tweeted in Hindi that storm of lies becomes so big at certain times that even day appears to be night but the sun does not forget giving light. People should not be persuaded by this storm. The truth is I couldn’t tolerate the insult to Udham Singh yesterday.

Pragya Thakur is the first-time MP from Bhopal who defeated Congress’s Digvijay Singh by a huge margin in the General Election in May 2019. She made the controversial comment when discussion on Special Protection Group (Amendment Bill) was going on. The opposition started a protest in the house, BJP members asked Thakur to sit down.
